Sam & Rich | Auburn, CA | Sacramento Wedding Photographer

On Saturday, October 12, 2013, Sam & Rich tied the knot. I have to say that theirs had to be one of the prettiest, most relaxing wedding I've been to in a long time. It took a lot of work but Sam & Rich were able to fix up their property so they can get married at home. The wedding ceremony actually took place on the bridge they built over a creek.

Everything, it seems, was made by them. There was so many pretty, pretty details throughout their wedding that it was a photographer's dream!!!! And Sam? SHE LOOKED STUNNING!!! The mermaid dress she wore looked as though it was designed just for her and for her only. As for Rich, (lol), well, there were probably 3 photos that he looked serious in. Everything else I had was of him smiling really, really wide!

What a beautiful and great-looking couple they are! But you don't have to believe me. Check them out yourself:

I caught myself checking out her silhouette as she was walking away so
I took this pic as she was mingling with the guests.

Creative Portraits | Phoebe Verkouw aka The Dress Fiend

Recently I got a chance to work with Phoebe Verkouw aka the Dress Fiend. She is a fashion blogger here in Sacramento who specializes in all things vintage, thrifty and cosigned. The first time I saw her work was via Instagram. I was intrigued by all the gorgeous outfits that she found at next to nothing prices. After all, I'm a girl and what girl doesn't get sucked into finding great deals. I mean, seriously think for yourself for a second, how many times have you used that line, "It's on sale!" to justify all the money you spent on clothing, shoes and purses.

During our 2-hour session, Phoebe showed me 3 outfits that she recently got. Including accessories and shoes, each outfit was less than $50. In her blog, she actually broke down the cost so check it out. Be inspired and start saving!

This first outfit is actually made by Phoebe's Mom. Isn't that amazing. Check out the open back.

Here is the 2nd outfit. This one is for her blog titled, ""Gray"T Expectations". Gray is the new neutral for this Fall and Phoebe shows us how we can make gray fun with this outfit:

We got the third outfit in before it got dark. What an awesome way to rock red leather pants:

Lily & the Fire Chief

Good morning and happy Monday!

This past Sunday, I got a chance to take family photos for Nate & his ADORABLE daughter, Lily. Nate is the fire chief at the UC Davis Fire Station. Amazingly enough, I got in touch with him through Instagram. We talked on Friday, set the time & date on Saturday morning (as I was heading to Hien & Loc's engagement ceremony) and did the photoshoot on Sunday. Talk about decisiveness, Nate!!!!

Looking at this set of photos, I have to say that Nate & Lily are the cutest and happiest duel that I have worked with. There is so much love and smiles and they show through these father & daughter images so well. Nate, I appreciate you for trusting me to capture your family memories. I had a great time working with you & Lily. What an awesome team you guys make.

I hope you enjoy the photos as much as I did working on them. I mean, how often do you get to go to a fire station to do a photoshoot! So without further ado, here they are:

I went ga-ga over this picture of Lily in her oversized firefighter jacket, trailing behind her Dad.
How much cuter can you get!!!

Normally these are not the pictures that you would print. However, the reason why I love them so much is that they show "STRENGTH!" With parents and children, it shows how little your child was and at the same time how strong, how tall, how young you were as well. Next year and the following years when you take photos again, you'd notice then that your child is taller and heavier. Pretty soon you can't carry him/her like this anymore. Rather, your child can carry you instead.

These make for great photobook pages because to me, they tell stories. Do you agree?
I think Lily agree because look how happy she looked!

And that is all for the first photoshoot off of the "Holiday Family Photo Sessions". If you haven't schedule your family photo session yet, you can do so here. I am currently booking for October, November and December in the greater Sacramento and surrounding area. This is a great time to get your holiday photos in, right on time to create holiday cards with!
