Loc & Hien's Engagement Ceremony

On Saturday, Loc and Hien's families and relatives formally met to acknowledge and celebrate their engagement. It was a beautiful, breezy day. The tea ceremony was short and sweet and filled with so much laughter during the parent's exchanges.
The sweetest moment was when Hien's Dad got emotional at the thought of his daughter getting ready to be married. His eyes watered and his lips quivered as he stuttered to get the words out.
At that moment, I found myself hanging onto to his every word as my eyes too, are getting watered along with half of everyone else that was present in the room.
The ceremony continued as Loc gave Hien the engagement ring.
Then the couple presented tea to their new father-in-law and mother-in-law.
Congratulations to the future Mr. &Mrs. Loc Tran on your beautiful engagement!
Check out the details on their engagement decorations.
You can tell that so much thoughts and efforts was put into them.

Portraits | Be Pham

Happy Saturday, everyone!

I am so excited to show you the pictures I took of Be this past Wednesday. I met her a couple months ago at a local photo meet and have kept in touch since then. She does photography in addition to working a full time job as a pharmacist in San Jose, CA. She was in town so I thought why not create some magical photos.

As you might remember, I went to this zinnia farm right outside of Sacramento several weeks ago and knew I have to come back. I am crazy about flowers and nature and of course, portrait photography. To make it extraordinary, we made a flower headband from the flowers grown right there at the farm.

I hope you enjoy the images as much as I had takin and editing them!!!

If you want to make one yourself, here's the direction:

1- Pluck a flower with at least 4 inches of stem
2- Make a small tear about 2 inches below the flower (just enough to pass another stem through)
3- Pass the 2nd stem halfway through the tear
4- Repeat Step 2 for the 3rd flower stem and so on
Continue to weave the flower stems together until the length is long enough to fit around your head
5- To make around headband, make a tear halfway between the 1st flower and it's tear.
6- Gently pass the LAST flower stem through the 1st tear and VOILA!
ADJUST AND WEAR FASHIONABLY!
(take some photos and show me what you made!)

Sweet Amy!!!

Today it rained for the first time this year, which is surprising early since raining season doesn't start until much later. I went out with my umbrella to catch the heavy downpour but instead look what I found: Amy! She is my neighbor's daughter. She was in the garage with her Dad when I walked by. She saw my camera and asked to take some pictures. She is soooo adorable and make the cutest faces. During our mini-session, a double rainbow even came out! It was amazing!!!! Her Mom is going to be so surprised when she sees these photos.

Lastly, this is my favorite!
